Join us this winter for a relaxed festive lunch or celebratory supper at Suffolk’s oldest pub.

We offer generous feasting menus for larger parties and special celebrations, designed for sharing around the table. Please get in touch by email or phone to discuss your booking and how we can make the occasion just right.

Throughout the festive period, our weekly menu will feature seasonal dishes to give you your Christmas fix. They may not always be traditional, but they’ll capture the warmth and spirit of the season—served in a beautifully decorated pub with roaring fires and plenty of festive cheer.

Christmas & New Year Opening Hours

We’ll be open as usual, Wednesday to Sunday, up to and including Sunday 20 December.

Monday 21 December — Open for lunch and dinner, with drinks served all day
Tuesday 22 December — Open for lunch and dinner, with drinks served all day
Wednesday 23 December — Open for lunch 12-4pm, with drinks served 12-6pm
Thursday 24 December, Christmas Eve — Closed
Friday 25 December, Christmas Day — Closed
Saturday 26 December, Boxing Day — Closed

Sunday 27 December — Drinks from midday; dinner from 6pm
Monday 28 December — Open for lunch and dinner, with drinks served all day
Tuesday 29 December — Open for lunch and dinner, with drinks served all day
Wednesday 30 December — Open for lunch and dinner, with drinks served all day

Thursday 31 December, New Year’s Eve — Open for drinks only from midday until 5pm. Our evening New Year’s Eve celebration is for ticketed guests only. Pub closed to the public from 5pm.

Friday 1 January — Open as usual from midday, with lunch, dinner and drinks
Saturday 2 January — Open as usual from midday, with lunch, dinner and drinks
Sunday 3 January — Sunday service from midday, with the last sitting at 4pm. The pub closes at 7pm.

Monday 4–Tuesday 19 January — Closed for our winter break

Wednesday 20 January — We reopen as normal and will then be open Wednesday to Sunday for the rest of the year.
