The shape changes, but the point is always the same, good food, proper drinks, generous service and a room, garden or pub full of people having the time they hoped for and more.
Menus are written around the season and the occasion. That might mean a spring lunch in the garden, summer grilling with live music, a candlelit winter feast, a company wine dinner, a shoot lunch after a morning outside, a drinks party with seasonal cocktails, a private lunch reached by boat, or a full pub takeover that feels entirely your own.

The Packing Shed Lunch
For something truly special, we can organise private lunches at The Packing Shed on Marsh Island, a small island off Mersea, Essex, accessible only by boat.
The Greyhound team can look after the whole event, from the boat journey and table set-up to the food, drinks and service. Lunch is shaped by the season, the setting and the day’s catch, with a long table in the old Packing Shed, cooking over fire, proper wines and the tide rising around the salt-worn timbers. It is a rare and atmospheric option for 8 to 24 guests, suited to private lunches, small celebrations, shoot lunches, wedding meals or anything that deserves to feel quietly spectacular.
